vegas
Its almost a week since I got back from Vegas and probably two days since the hangover has completely faded. On the plus side I'm in repentance mode and have signed up for a ten km race, snowboarding lessons, several computer course and I've been going to the gym like a mad man.. unfortunately there’s no cure for my bank book. On the plus side at least I'm not Shannon buckle but I'll get to that shortly.
The idea was a Vegas weekend with all of the college buddies who are now working and can support themselves. So we arranged for flights from three different cities to arrive close to the same time at the Vegas airport. We all touched down in an almost perfect sequence and promptly got started on what promised to be a very messy time.
Limo from the Airport to the gigantic MGM grand. Some pre drinks and off to a bar called Blondies for a beer pong tournament which we arrived slightly late for... The bar started to empty out and we were left without a plan at midnight. Funny thing, when you’re traveling in a group of six guys in Las Vegas all the taxi drivers seem to pressure you to go to the strippers… but we managed to avoid..... no just kidding we ended up at the strippers. I won't get into too many details but shannon demonstrates why you shouldn't mistake yourself for a high roller at the Vegas strippers

We all made it home and woke up with headaches however shannon's couldn't be cured with advil. Travis and I did some random walking around and wasted away most of the day. That night we went to the highly touted haufen hause, a german drinking hall. 32 ounce pints and chugging to ziggy zaggy ziggy zaggy oy oy oy.. the rest gets kind of blurry. We somehow made it to the blackjack tables at 4 in the morning, where our strategy of 'never quit while your ahead' did not prove successful.
The next day travis and I made it out to the strip fairly early again thanks to my inability to sleep past ten. Rode on some roller coasters and took about two hours to walk to the shark habitat at mandalay bay. After that it was power naps and off to see kevin nealons standup. The standup was hillarious and as a bonus when it ended we managed to recruit the opening act, wayne federman, to our possee. (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=12777927). Wayne managed to get us into the rum jungle without any line or cover at which point he realized he was much more sober than we were and snuck away. One more unsuccessful try at blackjack and an 11 hour flight home got me five hours of sleep before starting my five day work week.
